DETAINEE CLAIMS HE WAS FORCED TO MAKE IRAQ LINK TO MADRID BOMBS
Mohamed Ouazzani, one of those arrested in connection with the Madrid train bombs, has retracted an earlier statement in which he linked the attacks to Spain's presence in Iraq. He told judge Del Olmo that several Spanish police and a Moroccan had beaten and threatened him in December 2004, to tell judge Baltasar Garzón that the bombs were linked to Iraq.
