Centro Flamenco de Estudios Escénicos Mario Maya -

This centre was created following the initiative of the dancer and choreographer Mario Maya, as the peak of his dense and prolific artistic career, thereby enabling him to return to the city. The project would not have been possible without the valuable help of the City Hall of Granada, through its Department of Youth and Heritage. The main aim of the project is to complete the training of flamenco dancers who either dance professionally or who hope to do so. An all-round training will be given, with emphasis on both technique and musical, intellectual, and stage-choreographic aspects. The teaching revolves around the development of a mise en scène, which will be used as the basis for learning all the related disciplines. Another objective is the creation of a company-school, which marks the end of the students' training. There is the possibility that in the future this company will tour Spain and abroad, under the direction of Mario Maya.
