email this article The Mackenzie Valley wolves have only been in the Zoo since DecemberThree white Mackenzie Valley wolves have been born in Madrid Zoo.
Each one of the pups weighed about 600g when born on May 7, and they have been gaining weight rapidly since then.
The mother takes complete control at these times, while the father just observes from a distance.
In a month’s time they will be able to join and eat with the rest of the pack.
The wolves arrived at Madrid Zoo last December and such a rapid birth means the animals have adapted particularly well to their new environment.
