One Greenpeace member flew over the installations in a powered paraglider to, as the organisation said in a press release, to highlight ‘lack of security and control’ in Spain’s nuclear plants.
20 others chained themselves to the main gate, unfurling two large banners with the words, ‘No to nuclear power.’
Greenpeace calls on the government to begin a plan for the urgent progressive closure of all nuclear power stations and move towards a sustainable energy programme based on ‘cleaner and renewable’ energy.
They sent a fax to the Prime Minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, on Thursday morning to that end.
