The Bloc party at the Town Hall have asked for an extraordinary council meeting to withdraw a plan which includes a golf course and 3,500 new homes

The Bloc party in the Marina Baixa town of Orxeta is reported to have asked for an urgent council meeting to ask for the town’s PGOU local development plan to be withdrawn.

EFE reports that the Plan envisages 3,500 new homes and a golf course in a town with an official population of just 700 people.

It was passed during the previous legislature with the votes of the PSPV-PSOE party who at the time had an absolute majority. They now govern in minority with three councillors, against Bloc’s two and the Partido Popular, who also have two councillors.
