The video montage has been put together by a protest group concerned at plans to build a high speed train tunnel just metres from the monument.

One of Spain’s most famous buildings has fallen down – That’s the headline that is being placed on the Internet today via a series of You Tube videos in several languages which show the collapse of the Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Barcelona.

Fortunately for all the collapse of the Gaudí masterpiece is a video simulation, but put together by a local protest group L’AVE pel Litoral, who want plans to build a tunnel next to the cathedral for the new AVE high speed train line to be changed for another route by the coast.

They fear that the construction of the tunnel could indeed lead to the collapse of the monument, and if not the tunnels construction the years of vibration which would follow as high speed trains run through it.
