The new local government has withdrawn the project for a new Urban Plan which planned more than 25,000 new homes

The four-way local government in Villajoyosa has decided to withdraw the controversial project for a new Urban Plan which envisaged more than 25,000 new homes and would have multiplied the town’s population by six.

The vote at a council meeting last Thursday was passed with the support of the four parties which make up the local government: the Socialist Party, Bloc, EU and Iniciativa Independiente.

The Partido Popular, who approved the plan’s revision when they were in power in Villajoyosa, voted against the decision.
