Fernanda Urzúa, originally from Chile, vanished just a few metres from her home on Thursday night

100 soldiers from the Infantry unit joined the search on Saturday for a missing 15 year old on Tenerife.

Fernanda Urzúa vanished on Thursday night when on her way home along a track short cut no more than 200 metres from her house in the Ten Bel urbanisation in Arona on the SW of the island.

A shoe and a belt found at the scene are said to belong to the youngster who arrived in Spain six years ago with her parents from Chile.

She was wearing a black shirt and white pirate trousers when she disappeared.

It comes almost a year to the day of the disappearance of 14 year old Sara Morales in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and four months since 9 year old Yeremi Vargas vanished from Vecindario, also on Gran Canaria. Both those cases remain unsolved.
