New home owner finds a hand grenade in her wardrobe

It was found in a house in Molvízar and destroyed by the Civil Guard bomb disposal squad

The Civil Guard bomb disposal squad, EDEX, have destroyed a Civil War hand grenade which was discovered in a house in Molvízar on Tuesday morning.

Described by Ideal newspaper as a Breda grenade from Italy, it was found in the back of a wardrobe by the new owner of the house as she was carrying out renovations. The Granada branch of EDEX were called in by the Salobreña Civil Guard and destroyed the weapon in a controlled explosion in a nearby quarry.
