They are suspected of acting as informants for the drug traffickers
Two members of the Civil Guard assigned to Cartagena have been taken into custody in an investigation into a local drug trafficking network. The two men – a traffic sergeant and an officer with the Civil Guard nature branch, SEPRONA – are believed to have acted as informants to allow the drug gang to escape arrest.
La Opiníon de Murcia says the arrests took place late on Tuesday, and follow telephone taps authorised by a judge.
The two men first met when they were both assigned to the Seprona unit in Ibi, Alicante province.
