An immigrant who was trying to get into Spain illegally has died at Algeciras Port, when he was hit by the lorry where he was hiding.

Believed to be from Morocco, the as yet unidentified man had stowed beneath the vehicle’s chassis. He is reported to have died instantly when he lost his grip and fell early on Wednesday.

More than 180 illegal immigrants have meanwhile been arrested in Ceuta as they tried to get into Spain by hiding in the fairground attractions and lorries from the Ceuta fair, which are returning to the peninsula via Algeciras.
