Fire affects Benalmádena Costa apartment block

An apartment block in Benalmádena Costa was evacuated in the early hours of Wednesday, after the dense cloud of smoke from a fire in the underground garage began to spread to the flats above.

It happened in the Puerta del Mar building on Avenida del Sol. Sixteen of the 50 residents evacuated from the block spent the rest of the night in a hotel.
Four people were treated for smoke inhalation, including a four year old girl.

There were reports that the fire may have been started intentionally.
