15 of the 17 have now been released, but two who were in Spain without papers are to be deported

A joint operation between the local police in Marbella and the National Police has resulted in the arrest of 17 Chinese masseurs who were working illegally on the beaches of the resort.

Two of those arrested had no residency papers for Spain and will be deported, and none of them had Marbella as their official residence. The 15 have now been released.

Police however commented that in such cases if an injury is caused there would be little chance of making a complaint afterwards, and there were also concerns about a lack of hygiene.
