Demolition started yesterday morning of six villas on the El Arenal beach

The constructor José Ávila Rojas, who is implicated in the Malaya corruption case in Marbella, has been the first businessmen to see how homes he built have been demolished by the authorities in the town.

The six villas were built illegally on the front line of the El Arenal beach in the town close to Los Monteros, and construction was stopped in August 2003.

The promoter accepted demolition of the properties and has also been fined 59,000 € for a ‘serious town planning infraction’.

It’s the first demolition to be seen in the town after the 15 years of town planning uncertainty and irregularities which started with the governments under the control of the late Jesús Gil y Gil and his GIL party.
