Immigrants escape from Algeciras internment centre

A group escaped by forcing the bars of a window. Only one has been recaptured

National Police are still looking for a group of illegal immigrants who escaped from the ‘Eras de las Torres’ foreigners’ internment centre in Algeciras on Monday night by forcing the bars on one of the windows.

Only one of the group of 26 has so far been recaptured.

The remainder of the inmates were transferred to the new National Police station in the city, which has yet to officially open.
