email this articleOfficial figures show an increase of more than 3,000 in the past four years, with the British in the leadChiclana’s foreign population has seen a massive increase in the past four years, up from just 223 in 2003 to the latest official figure of 3,383. Councillor Andrés Núñez told La Voz Digital that the true number could be double that, if those who are not officially registered at the Town Hall are taken into account.
The paper gives some details on the figures: more than 70 nationalities compared to just 19 in 2003, with the largest grouping today – 1116 people - coming from the UK. German nationals are in second place, with 410 and Morocco in third, with 250.
