It comes despite an agreement with the Mediapro company for two more features

Woody Allen will not shoot any more films in Spain, despite the fact that he has two more features planned with the Catalan production company Mediapro.

A statement from Mediapro says the decision has been taken following recent controversy over some alleged public funding for the films which did not in fact exist. Jaume Roures from Mediapro said that there had been excessive pressure during the filming of ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ and that the next two features would not be shot on Spanish territory.

It’s thought that Allen also felt under considerable pressure over the summer by the impact in the press and from the public which his filming produced in Spain.
