The book by Elisa Beni, is about her husband Judge Javier Gómez Bermúdez, during the Madrid Train Bombings case

The General Council for Judicial Power, CGJP, the organisation which oversees the judiciary, has opened an investigation into the book written by the wife of National Court judge Javier Gómez Bermúdez.

It comes after the judge himself called for an investigation into whether there was any responsibility on his part.

President of the CGJP, Francisco José Hernando, said that the investigations were being made into the book written about her husband and the Madrid Train Bombings trial by Elisa Beni.

There have been some claims in the press that the judge must have revealed secrets about the case to his wife, in order for her to write the book. There has been criticism too from some of the Madrid Train Bombings Victims Groups, who have asked where the proceeds from the book will be going. Other National court judges have also accused Bermúdez of a lack of loyalty.

The book, ‘La soledad del juzgador, Gómez Bermúdez y el 11-M’ was launched in the Cículo de Bellas Artes in Madrid last Monday.
