email this article A march to draw attention to the matter is taking place along the Moroccan coastline this weekendA new National Front for Morocco has been created to demand the sovereignty of the two Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla.
The new coalition includes political parties, unions and other groups and has organised a march which will pass by Ceuta, go along the coast close to the Perejil island, and end on Monday at the frontier in Melilla. The march is called ‘The Caravan of freedom and development’.
The new group say the object of the protest is to publicise ‘the situation’ of these two cities, to international public opinion, describing the current situation in the north of Morocco as ‘Spanish colonialism’. They say that urgent and serious dialogue is needed with Spain on the matter.
