email this article The new facilities at the Ciudad de la Justicia are said not to be properly ventilated Forensic scientists based at the new Ciudad de la Justicia complex in Málaga, have issued a warning about a ‘biological risk’ in the new massive building. The recently opened complex now holds all the Málaga courts and many administrative offices, but also contains the laboratories where autopsies are carried out.
The scientists warn however that the lack of a closed ventilation system in the laboratory presents a risk to the rest of the building, as a dead body can be the source of infection and illness. Spanish legislation says the air in the autopsy lab should not be recycled or in contact with the main ventilation system but apparently that is not the case in Málaga.
Several days ago workers in the complex complained of the smell in the building, and now the scientists say that full testing needs to be carried out urgently.
