Three dead among 85 immigrant arrivals on Tenerife

Another four people have been taken to hospital where two are reported to be giving cause for concern

At least three people have died and another two are reported to be in a very serious condition from the latest immigrant arrivals on the Canaries.

A cayuco boat carrying 85 passengers was spotted by the by ‘Luz de Mar’ coastguard vessel when at sea and escorted into the port of Los Cristianos on Tenerife at 7,15am Saturday morning.

Three of the travellers were already dead, and four others have been taken to hospital. A two year old baby girl was among the arrivals. Sources at the Government delegation offices on the islands report she is in good health.
