Escaped prisoner gets another six months for getting out of jail in a rubbish bag

A prisoner being held in Santander jail who managed to escape by hiding in a rubbish bag, has had another six months added to his sentence. Penal court 3 in the city today sentenced Jefferson Escobar to the extra time in prison to be added to his 18 year sentence he is serving for beating a man to death at the doors of a discotec in Castro Urdiales in March 2002.

The 28 year old Colombian declared himself guilty as charged, and escaped from the Provincial Prison in Santander in May 2006 by hiding in a rubbish bag and thanks to help from another prisoner.
