email this articlePolice are still to identfy the victim who was about 45 years of ageThe body of a man, aged about 45 and thought to be a foreigner, was found in a septic tank next to the El Polvorín church in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It seems the drowning was the cause of death, although how he man came to be there is not known.
Locals say that the area was frequented by drug traffickers and one told the Canarias7 newspaper that it was not the first time that someone had appeared dead in the area. Locals who saw the body are convinced the victim was not local, and the National Police say they are still trying to identify the man, thought to be a foreigner. He was not carrying any papers.
