A priest blessed the union between the ugly elephant of Terra Natura and her new boyfriend

The ugly elephant of the Benidorm animal park who was rejected by the herd as long-legged and too thin, has been in the limelight again after the news last week that she had managed to find a boyfriend.

Petita, ‘la fea,’ as she is known at Terra Natura, and her new beau, Luka, were at the centre of attention this Sunday for a ceremony which was watched by more than 100 guests, as father René Figueroa blessed their union. The Información newspaper said the novios got a garland of fruit and fig leaves instead of rings, and the guests celebrated the happy event with a wedding cake.

As the paper said, perhaps the next event will be to celebrate a birth – in around 22 months’ time.
