email this article He is a local criminal who carried out another robbery in the town on the same day that Dolores Amaya Ramírez was stabbedThe Civil Guard have arrested a suspect for the murder of 25 year old Dolores Amaya Ramírez, the Chiclana shop assistant who was stabbed to death as she was closing up the mattress and bedding shop where she worked on 14th February. She was buried in her home town, Conil de la Frontera, the following Saturday.
The man now in custody is a 24 year old local criminal, named by La Voz de Cádiz as Juan Manuel Jiménez Sánchez. He was identified as the man responsible for the robbery of another shop in Chiclana that same afternoon, and was arrested after a young woman who worked there saw him near the shop on Saturday.
The newspaper said officers found evidence linking him to the fatal stabbing in a search of his home, bloodstained clothing which he is believed to have been wearing on the day Dolores Amaya was killed.
He confessed to the murder following his arrest.
