His body was found in an open pit an hour after he was reported missing

A man who disappeared in Lorca on Wednesday has been found dead just an hour after he was reported missing. EFE names him as J.T.R., 88 years old, and said he failed to return from his daily walk on Wednesday afternoon.

His body was found in a mud-filled open pit near the fire station at around 10 pm that night. Local police chief, Juan Amorós, told journalists on Thursday that the pit was fenced off, and an investigation is underway to determine what happened. It’s understood the pensioner was from the San Antonio area of Lorca.
