The final words for Spain’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest this year have been chosen. The song, ‘Baila El Chicki Chiki’ from Rodolfo Chikilicuatre, started life as a spoof on the late night Buenafuente show on Spanish television but finally won selection with votes from the public in a gala held last week.
However the song had references to Spanish politicians, banned under Eurovision regulations, but it now still includes the famous ‘Porque no te callas?’ said by King Juan Carlos to the President of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez. Also the song was too short at under the required three minutes.
The new lyrics have now been decided and now half the song will be in English, and Spain’s Javier Bardem and Fernando Alonso no getting their mention also.

The Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Belgrade on May 27.
