Cataluña and the Basque Country were given as examples by Luis Cabello, general secretary of the UFP police union, where he said officers in the autonomous forces earn between 400 and 700 € more than their colleagues in the National Police and Civil Guard, Europa Press reports.
He also noted that officers in municipal forces receive a much higher rate for overtime than is paid to officers with the National Police.
Previous demonstrations have been held in Valencia, Valladolid, Granada and Málaga, and Cabello said the protests will continue in support of their demands.
