84 year Antonio Jiménez Ocaña was reported missing on Friday

An 84 year old man who had been missing from his home in the Málaga village of Almargen since Friday has been found dead, in a disused well close to the bar where Antonio Jiménez Ocaña was last seen. The local Mayor, Vicente Jiménez, told Europa Press that the body of the missing pensioner was discovered at around 6pm on Monday after builders working in the area demolished a small structure, uncovering the well inside with the body of the missing pensioner.

More than 100 people had been searching for Antonio Jiménez since he was reported missing by his elderly sister , and it’s understood that the area where his body was found had previously been covered by the search party. It appears to have been only by chance that the well, which the Mayor said was previously unknown, was uncovered when the structure around it was demolished.

There has been no news yet on whether any violence may have been involved in the pensioner’s death.
