email this articleHe tried to rob a petrol station armed with a screwdriverNational Police have arrested a 45 year old British man, named by his initials of G.M., for the attempted robbery of a petrol station on Avenida Jaime I in Benidorm this Thursday.
Europa Press reports that the suspect was armed with a screwdriver and threatened to stab the employee who was on duty at the time, just before 3 am on Thursday, in the stomach. He ran off when a customer saw what was happening and stopped the assailant in an attempt to shut the employee in a room at the petrol station.
Police found the suspect in other premises nearby shortly after the assault and took him into custody.
