email this articleThe 68 year old woman is said to suffer from a mild form of Alzheimer DiseaseThe search is underway on Tenerife for a 68 year old Irish woman who went missing at the start of a family holiday at the weekend.
Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Butler, from Kilkenny wandered off as her nieces were checking into a hotel on the island on Sunday, and is understood to have a mild form of Alzheimer’s disease.
The family are reported by the Irish Independent to be receiving consular assistance as police on the island continue with a search.
Posters have been put up locally and given to taxi companies and local hospitals and the local airport is on alert.
Mrs. Butler is 1,55m tall with grey/black hair. She was wearing black trousers, a light blue top and white trainers, carrying a black sports bag when last seen.
The search is being concentrated in the Playa de Las Americas and the immediate area.
