email this article However nobody in Polaris World admits to carrying out the negotiations with the Town HallFollowing its alleged implication in corruption in Torre Pacheco, the Polaris World company has said that it paid a high price for the land in El Jimenado which it later exchanged for other land in a deal with the Ayuntamiento. The company says that no irregularities have been carried out by it.
However La Verdad newspaper reports this morning that nobody in Polaris World admits to have carried out the negotiations on the deal with the Town Hall.
Company Chairman, José Luis Hernández said that the talks were carried out by a member of staff Facundo Armero, but he denies it.
The case has resulted in the imprisonment on remand of the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Daniel García Madrid, as investigations continue by the judge Salvador Calero, who has also taken statements from both Hernández and Armero. The judge considers the deal resulted in a loss of some five million € of taxpayers money from the municipal coffers.
