The work from 1901 or 1902 shows Picasso with his first lover in Paris

A Picasso painting found in a house in S.E. England has been sold at auction in Duke’s Auction House in Dorchester for 81,260 pounds – over 100,000 €.

The water colour called ‘Etreinte’ (hug) was painted at the start of the 20th century in 1901 or 1902 and shows Picasso in a passionate embrace with his lover Louise Lenor, known as Odette, who was his first lover in Paris.

The work was declared authentic by the painter himself in 1969 who resigned the painting on the back at the time.
