The plan is to build the five star hotel on the site currently occupied by the casino
Diario Información reports this morning that Casinos del Mediterráneo, the company which owns a casino in La Vila Joiosa, say they plan to build a new 50 floor skyscraper hotel on the site, which they claim could be a tourist attraction for the next 30 years.
The paper says the project has not yet been presented officially to the local Town Hall but they have been sounded out ‘off the record’. The reports indicate the La Vila Joiosa Town Hall are concerned that the company may be moving its casino operations to Alicante, and in that case permission for the five star hotel would not be granted.
