Málaga schoolchildren go hungry as thieves nick the food for a week

The dining hall at the María de la O College in the Málaga city district of Los Asperones has had to close its doors, as someone stole all the food in the early hours of last Monday.

The college, which is in one of the poorest areas of the city, saw the theft of not only the food from the dining hall stores, but also some other educational material, although interestingly the schools computers were not touched.

Málaga Hoy reports the thieves bent back railings from a kitchen window to gain entry. School headmistress, Alicia Alonso, told the paper that not only are the children now without breakfast and lunch, the broken window has allowed all sort of campo animals to get into the school, given its rural location.
