Her mother had presented three official complaints to the regional police, Los Mossos d’Esquadra, including being burned with cigarettes, punched, and threatened with knives.
Before she left the IES Vallès Institute, the teacher there allowed her to leave classes early to avoid the other students, and she was excused going on any school excursions.
The case is published today in the La Vanguardia newspaper which reports that the homophobic attacks started last October when her class companions found that she had drawn a heart with two girls names in her exercise book.
The decision to change schools was taken after the mother wrote to the Education councillor in Sabadell and regional teaching unions.
