email this article Real Madrid are ten points clear with four matches to go in the Spanish Primera Liga.A disastrous performance by Barça , beaten 2-0 by Deportivo on Saturday placed the league title of a plate for the Real Madrid, but despite a 3-0 win against Athletic the league title is still not theirs as Villarreal are still in with a mathematical chance at least – ten points behind with four games to go.
It will probably all be decided next week when Real Madrid play Osasuna, or against Barcelona the following Wednesday. If it happens at Osasuna, the Barça players will have the embarrassment according to protocol of forming a guard of honour for the Real Madrid players. It’s a case of Osa- sooner or later!
Real Madrid goalkeeper, Iker Casillas, has called for the games next week to be played at the same time, to make the end of the season more exciting. As the schedule is now, Real could win the league on Sunday without kicking the ball if Villarreal lose their match which starts at 5pm.
Sevilla hit the defence wall of Murcia and Javier Clemente and their dreams of playing in the Champions league next season are now distant.
Levante are confirmed to be playing in the second division next season.
