email this article The accident used 350-400 units of blood and an appeal has gone out to donors.The tragic coach accident in Benalmádena ten days ago in which nine Finnish tourists died and dozens of injured has resulted in a shortage of blood in the hospitals of Málaga province which say they only have a guaranteed blood supply for the next 24 hours.
The accident saw between 350 and 400 units of blood being used.
A request has gone out to regular blood donors to attend the Civil Hospital in Málaga from 9am to 9pm, or at the blood donation bus which has been parked outside El Corté Inglés in Málaga City Centre from 10am to 2pm and from 5pm to 9pm.
Another mobile unit was in Nerja yesterday and will move on today to Istán, Ríogordo and Ronda. Registered donors should also receive a request by SMS message.
