70 year old British man dies in Torrevieja road accident

A 70 year old British man, as yet unnamed in reports, died in an accident on the N-332 road in Torrevieja near the cemetery around 6pm last night. Firemen had to use cutting gear to remove the body from the wreckage.
It happened following the collision between two cars during an attempted overtaking manoeuvre and another four people, all women, were slightly hurt and received treatment at the Torrevieja district hospital. A total of four vehicles were involved in the crash.
It was not the only fatal traffic accident in Torrevieja yesterday. Another took place in the town centre when the driver of a white van lost control of the vehicle and ran down a pedestrian before crashing into a house. The pedestrian, a 48 year old Moroccan, died shortly after.
