Jorge Lorenzo has spectacular accident in Shanghai

It happened in the first practice session for the MotoGP in the city.

Spain’s Jorge Lorenzo has suffered a spectacular accident in the first free practice session of the MotoGP in Shanghai, with the rider flying through the air off his Yamaha.

First reports say that he has fractured his left ankle and hurt his right knee and has been taken to hospital. However even with the fracture reports say that he could be back on the track later in the day in the second practice session.

Jorge Lorenzo has just had surgery after the Portuguese Grand Priz to correct muscles in his right hand; an injury common to MotoGP riders.
