Juan Pedro Gómez is accused of permitting an illegal rubbish tip to be established.

The prosecutor is calling for a six month prison sentence for the ex Mayor of Ojén, the Socialist Juan Pedro Gómez, for giving permission for a rubbish tip which has since affected a nearby stream. The local ex Environment councillor, Juan Antonio Sánchez faces similar charges.

The dump has been used for construction materials including some toxic products such as fridges, batteries and fire extinguishers, but did not have permission from the Junta de Andalucía.
