National Court judge Baltasar Garzón gave the order to close the premesis on Monday afternoon, after ordering a search during the morning.

National Court judge, Baltasar Garzón, has ordered the offices of the ANV party in Portugalete to be closed. The order came after a search of the premises which saw between five and ten boxes of material removed, according to anti-terrorist sources.

It comes as more believe that the ANV has been acting as a political wing for the Basque terrorists ETA.
The police started to tape up the building at 2pm on Monday afternoon, having searched and removed items during the morning, while some two dozen of party sympathisers gathered in protest outside, including the President of the ANV, Kepa Bereziartua.

Last Wednesday, Judge Garzón sent Inocencia Galparsoro, the PNV Mayor of Arrasate-Mondragón, to prison on charges of collaborating with an armed gang among others. She had also ‘expressly’ not carried out an order from the court last February to suspend the local activities of the ANV.

Meanwhile a group of ‘citizens’ have called a general strike in Mondragón for this Thursday.
