Six month old baby critical after being thrown into the sea

It's thought the child was thown by his mother off the coast of Fuerteventura.

A six month old baby in a critical condition has been found on the coast in Fuerteventura after, according to first reports, the child’s mother threw the child into the sea off the coast of Fuerteventura.

It happened in the area of Costa Calma, in the municipality of Pájara at 5,30pm last night, with the child suffering serious injuries as a result and now being treated in a critical condition in the Los Gorriones Hospital and then being moved by helicopter to the Materno Infantil Hospital on Gran Canaria.

The child’s parents have both been arrested as investigations continue.
