The man found his victims aged 48 to 60 on an internet portal, and police think there may have been as many as eight victims in Spain last year alone.

Police are searching for an as yet unidentified man who has defrauded four Málaga women with false promises of marriage.

The Spaniard won the women’s hearts over the internet and then asked each one of them to pay 12,000 € for the wedding banquet.
Reports say that he managed to obtain as much as 120,000 € from one of his victims.

The man called himself Carlos M.E.N. and chose his 48 to 60 year old victims over the internet. After a time they were invited to spend some time with him in Tel Aviv.
‘I was welcomed like a queen’, said one of the victims who was then asked for money to reserve the wedding banquet. The man declares himself to be a Spaniard living in Tel Aviv, but police now think that he is named Michael S, and was born in Israel.

Police now think the man could have established as many as eight such relations across Spain last year alone. In each case after the money was sent the women received information that the man had died.
