The ex Mayor of Marbella has meanwhile been granted a second three-day prison police from the Málaga jail in Alhaurín de la Torre.

It has been established that despite the plea-deal bargain reached between the Málaga Environmental Prosecutor and the ex Mayor of Marbella under which Julián Muñoz will serve a single additional year in prison for some 70 additional real estate irregularity cases, that there are still some 40 cases against the ex Mayor which are not part of that agreement. The agreement was only for real-estate and planning irregularities, but Julián Muñoz has also to respond to other charges of mis-use of public funds, fraud and money laundering.

There are three main cases pending…
1. The Monteverde Case, where the National Court is investigating the destination of 42 million € for architectural projects which were never actually carried out, or which were mere copies of projects from other cities.
2. The Del Nido Case, where the famous Sevilla lawyer is reported in El País to have been paid 3.1 million € by the Marbella Town Hall for services in the years 2000 and 2001.
3. The outstanding charges of bribery, money laundering and mis-use of public funds arising from the Malaya case.

Meanwhile Julián Muñoz left the Alhaurín de la Torre prison on Saturday on his second three day prison pass granted since he was found guilty in three different real estate irregularities cases.
