Levante players announce strike action from Saturday

The players will not travel to play Real Madrid in the capital on Saturday unless they are paid.

The spokesman for the Levante football team, Luis Manuel Rubiales, has announced in indefinite strike in the side from this coming Saturday. They are demanding unpaid wages from the past two years.

In the strike stays in place in means that the side will not travel to Madrid to play Real Madrid on Sunday in the Santiago Bernabéu. Rubiales said that he had already spoken to the Real Madrid players who had understood the situation.

President of the Levante club, Julio Romero, had been given a deadline of 6pm yesterday to pay the four million € owed and promised to the players. The total debt of the club is now estimated to have reached 13 million €.
