Zapatero arrives in Latin America for weekend summit

The Spanish Prime Minister has planned a whole series of bilateral meetings with Latin American leaders.

Spanish Prime Minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, arrives in Lima today for the fifth Latin America, Caribbean and European Union summit which gets underway officially on Friday.

Zapatero is already in Brazil and has a bilateral meeting planned with Lula da Silva before moving on to Peru where he will have meetings with many other leaders, although there is nothing programmed with Hugo Chávez from Venezuela.

Zapatero will be meeting with Evo Morales from Bolivia, Cristina Fernández of Argentina, and the Colombian President Álvaro Uribe.
The Spanish Prime Minister meets with the Peruvian leader, Alan García at the Government Palace in Lima this evening.
