Around 100 jobs are under threat in the Monllor group of companies which is facing debts of around seven million Euro.

The Monllor group of five companies based in Alcoy has filed for bankruptcy protection, facing debts of around seven million €.
The crisis in the textile industry as a whole combined with the current economic slowdown has brought the crisis for the group to a head, with the threat to more than 100 jobs.

It will also have a knock on effect to the Prepal SL company although that is now actually owned by the same group. The Monllor family say that they have also been waiting for permission to move the business for the past four years, and this has further complicated their situation.
