Spanish team doctor loses battle to cancer

Genaro Borras has been with the Spanish National football team since 1991.

The team doctor for the Spanish national football side since 1991, Genaro Borrás has died from cancer. He was 62.
He died in his native Vigo on Thursday morning and has been the team doctor for more than 25 years until his health no longer allowed him to carry out his duties.

He was considered as one of the best specialists in sports medicine, especially in orthopaedic surgery.

Team manager, Luis Aragonés, has decided to delay the announcement of the 23 man Spanish squad for the European Cup until Saturday as a sign of respect.
