75 immigrants, five of them children and 16 women, have been rescued from a drifting patera small boat off the coast of Almería.
The Guardia Civil maritime unit reports that there are at least three babies among the travellers who themselves alerted the authorities when their engine failed during the crossing to Spain.

They were finally picked up 34 miles to the south of Almería by a coastguard vessel ‘Salvamar Denébola’ which was assisted in the operation by two fishing boats from Roquetas de Mar. They finally arrived in Almeria port at 2250 last night.
